TAEKWON-DO is a fantastic Martial Art, which
was originated in North Korea by the late founder, General Choi Hong Hi 9th
Degree Grand Master; it is the most powerful art of self-defence, using both
hand & foot for attack and defence. Do
you want to see a positive change in you/your child? Give us two lessons!
With self-defence, sparring, patterns and destruction,
this art is suitable for all ages, male and female, and is great for KIDS,
teaching confidence, respecting themselves & others & saying NO to
bullying. No other Art compares
Taekwon-Do will not only teach you how to defend
yourself, but will be a life changing journey

End Of An Era - Miss Cross Announces Her Retirement From Competition
We are fast approaching the Euros 2010, an event which this year will be conspicuous by the abscence a competitor who, as the most sucessful ever competitor has become an ITF tournament legend. A selection of videos of Miss crosscompeting in both sparring and patterns have now been added to the gallery section of site 4 students from South Queensferry TKD traveled to Sweden as part of the Scottish team Michelle Redmond, Sean Wheelan, Gilles Brown & Rheannan Brown. All students did remarkably well. They all had really tough opponents in first rounds for patterns and sparring. Showing how high the standard was, so unfortunately there were no medals in patterns, special technique or power. For Rheannan & Gilles Brown it was their 1st European Championships. I am sure it was a great experience for them. Gilles Brown came home with a BRONZE medal for +70kg Junior Sparring. This is a fantastic achievement for his first Europeans. All his Team mates were extremely proud as are we at South Queensferry TKD. It shows all his hard work and determination is starting to pay off. Gilles was up against a very though opponent from Sweden in round 1, then Poland round 2 and he was put out by the eventual winner, Romania in the semi-finals. I hope this is the first of many medals for my students at World & European level. A huge well done from us all. This year's gathering will take place at the Bells Sport Centre in Perth on Saturday the 12th of June. It was another very succesful competition for South Queensferry TKD. We won best overall school with a total haul of 33 medals. Well done to all teh students involved. All Instructors in the UKTF are Disclosure
Scotland checked
After winning 6 World and 15 European titles in a row of successes unparalleled in the history of ITF competition, in a career spanning almost 20 years , Miss Julia Cross IV Degree (Scotland) has decided that the time is right to announce her retirement from International competition.
When asked about her decision to retire Julia said “These last two years have been particularly difficult for me due to a serious and progressive hip injury which now requires surgery should I wish to continue in TaeKwon-Do in any sort of capacity. This has helped me to realise my life in TaeKwon-Do is more than just about tournament, and as much as I have enjoyed competing and had a great time in doing so, I feel it is now time to move on. This decision has not been easy to reach and I will find it very hard to say goodbye to the adrenaline and energy of competition, however my classes and seminars are taking up more and more of my time and these are something that I would like to focus on in the future. It seems for me, a natural progression to share my experience and knowledge with the people who will be tomorrows champions”
Miss Cross would like to thank ITF Scotland and The United Kingdom TaeKwon Do Federation for all their support over the years. Especially her Instructor Master Sutherland VIII , coach Mr Heath Denholm V deg and all her team mates over the years. Without these people my sucess would have been even harder to achieve.
Also to all her fantastic students who have been behind her 100%.
I now hope to help others achieve their dream. It takes a lot of hard work, determination and sacrifice. But I belive nothing is impossible.
